Summary of service
Mackay Women’s Services provides professional support to women and children impacted by domestic, family, or sexual violence.
Our free services include crisis intervention, counselling, case management, and group programs for adult and child victim-survivors.
Programs and initiatives
Sexual Violence Counselling
Therapeutic case management and counselling for women and young women who have experienced sexual violence.
Domestic & Family Violence Counselling
Counselling and case management for female victim-survivors of DFV.
Child & Adolescent counselling
Therapeutic supports for children and young people who have experienced DFV.
Wellbeing & Recovery Supports
Therapeutic groups, counselling and case management focused on improving wellbeing after an experience of gender-based violence.
Court Based Services
Assisting community members with information about DFV matters at magistrates' courts across our footprint.
Women’s Advocacy
This service provides information, advocacy and referrals to women experiencing DFV where the person using violence is engaged with a Men’s Behaviour Change Program.
Men’s Behavior Change Program
The program works directly with men using violence in relationships, helping them understand its impact on their families and relationships.
High Risk Team
Coordinated, integrated service system responses to high-risk cases of DFV.
Home Safety Security Upgrades
Home safety and security upgrades and limited brokerage based on a needs analysis. Can be used for safety and security devices and/or repairs or upgrades to the home in relation to victim-survivor safety.
Waiting space/safe space
Safe space can be made available.
